Under Construction / ramblings
If you are a ‘returner’ then you’ll see that there have been a few changes around here. This new website runs on what’s known as a WordPress platform – at least that’s my definition of it. It’s actually very flexible in most respects and allows the user to make frequent changes by means of a dashboard on their own computer. The huge black hole for me – most perfectly rendered by the current page’s backgound – is the functionality around graphics. While I’m aiming for an odd, slightly home-spun feel, no corporate globes and attractive young execs in business suits, thank you – I’m right now wondering how to change the background on this particular page and its siblings.
So experimentation is the order of the day, please forgive the few gaps, odd graphics and non-sequiturs here and there. All the contact details remain the same as the old site and they’re repoduced again here of course. So please get in touch and let me know what you think – about the website please
Cheers, catch you soon, Jim
PS Thank you ‘Jim fans’ for your helpful comments about the chocolate motorcycles. I know this graphic is wrongly scaled, not optimised – aren’t they all! I’m working on this. The motorcycles were a Christmas present from Germany, were delicious and the packaging had some rather sweet homemade translation on it. I’m not the kind of translator who likes to guffaw at mistranslations, I consider this the weakest of the weak in terms of humour related to this profession. I prefer the quiet smile to oneself. I say “good for you” to anyone anywhere for having a go at providing a translation: especially in key locations such as toilets, shower blocks, swimming pool changing rooms etc. where understanding the operation of sanitation hardware and protocols involving the removal of clothing is absolutely key to the enjoyment of the moment.
