Bio

Jim Murdoch is passionate about many things: languages, particularly German and English, motorcycles, music performance and production, film and photography rank most highly.

Pursuing a motorcycle-racing career, which he never quite caught up with, JM sped past university and worked for his motorcycle sponsor in materials handing equipment sales. In 1980 he then moved to Cologne Germany to study German and work with a major motorcycle franchise importing/exporting spares and accessories. Upon returning to the UK JM’s interest in film-making took him into the world of corporate video and in turn into interactive video and a whole brave new world of XT’s AT’s and 286′s. Since 1991 JM has worked predominantly in the computer games industry in third party product management, European distribution, game design and localisation.

JM famously played trumpet in the eponymous ‘Jim’s Ties’ garage/swing/blues band until parenting and trumpeting deep into the night became incompatible activities. However he has now become re-brassed, playing valve trombone in a latin band and also performing as a solo guitarist/singer/songwriter. Jim Murdoch is also a published fiction author and a Driving Standards Agency qualified motorcycle instructor.
